Be Not Deceived

Be Not Deceived

2Ti 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Luke 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

We are warned not to be fooled, deceived into believing something that is not true. We are especially warned deception will get worse as we near the close of the End times, the Last Days.

Be not deceived.

How can you protect yourself from the deceitfulness of Satan, the lies of the World?

Only by knowing what God Word says, and comparing scripture with scripture.

Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

We are going to concentrate upon some 4 basic , important deceptions.

1. Be not deceived about who Christ is:

2. Be not deceived about what Bible to use.

3. Be not deceived about the plan of salvation.

4. Be not deceived about the Rapture.

We pray O God that you would give us the Spirit of understanding, so we will rightly divide the Word of truth. Amen

The Mormon church believes Jesus is a god, a little god and that Satan is his brother. They do not believe that Jesus is the Only true living god, the Almighty, the Only creator, as the Bible says.

They are deceived. How do people who have been Baptists fall for their lies, and join these cults? They never learned the truth.

The Jehovah’s Witness’s do not believe Jesus Christ is “The Almighty God”, the Creator, the Only true and living god. They’re perverted translation reads in John that the “Word was a god”, Not “The Word was God” John 1:1 KJV.

They have perverted the Word of God.

They are deceivers, who deceive others. Remember Satan is a deceiver and liar. He has counterfeited everything. The Church, the plan of Salvation. Who Jesus is, etc.

Be not deceived. Do not waste your time arguing with them, offer them a gospel tract, end go find someone who will listen to the truth.

If someone tries to explain to you why “this such a person” is Christ, you know they are wrong. When you see the Lord, you will know it is Him. No one will have to point Him out.

Jesus accepted worship many times. It is blasphemy to worship anyone but God.

Mt 28:17 And when they saw him, they worshiped him: but some doubted.

Lu 24:52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:

Mt 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Jesus claimed to have power to forgive sins, only God can forgive sins.

Mr 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

Jesus let people call hm God.

John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

The title “Son of God” means He is equal to God.

Many verses teach Jesus is “The Son of God”.

Many times Jesus called Himself “the Son of Man”. This is the Old Testament name for the Messiah. Daniel 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

The charge against Him that led to His crucifixion was “blasphemy”. He claimed to be God!

John 10:30 “I and my Father are one.

31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.”

He is God Almighty.

Be not deceived.

2. Do not use any version of the bible but the KJV 1611.

Why. Because major words, sentences and phrases in all the other versions have been changed or left out. If God says you must obey His Word, then I have to have His Word, now, in 2016, or that is not fair. Simple. I have read the KJV1611 more than 30 times and never found a mistake. Not one.

They take out entire verses. They take out or change words that change important doctrines. They are not “All the same”.!

Psalms 119:89 “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”

Here are a few of the changes.

And their are hundreds more!

It does make a difference!

It is very important.

How can you have unity in a Church if you use different Bibles, and memorize different words?

Be not deceived.

3. Do not be deceived about the plan of salvation.

Any Gospel plan that includes any personal effort on the lost sinners part is a false gospel.

It is “Believe on the Son” and His finished atonement made on the cross.

Put your entire trust in it, and nothing else.

To the Phillipian jailer, Paul said he only had to believe.

Acts 16:27 “And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

Repentance is necessary, of course. I must “change my mind” about my sinful life. I need a Savior.

I must change my mind about who Christ is. He is God in flesh.

I must “change my mind” about the impossibility of doing any “good works” to earn any favor with God.

Real repentance always brings a change. A change of mind and a change of life.

Real repentance rejects any form of “good works” and embraces God’s Grace. It is free.

I can do nothing but humbly receive His mercy by Grace.

I am condemned to Hell for only one sin. I can do nothing to change this.

I can only accept God’s offer of the free gift of eternal life, by grace, through faith.

The entire book of John was written So we can have eternal life.

John 20:31 “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”

Not once is the word “repentance, or repent ” used.

Why is this?

The most famous verse in the Bible John 3:16 says only “believe”.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Does it say “Repent of your sin” AND “Believe in him”.

Over and over again, we are told all that is necessary is to “Believe On”,

Put your trust in Him.

I believed and taught a person must “Repent of their sin” in order to be saved for 37 years. Why? That is what I was taught. That is what all those around me repeated, over and over. But I will be judged by the Bible, not the traditions and words of men.

In connection with verses about salvation, the term “repent of your sins” is never used.

Turn from your sins, and turn from your iniquities are used in reference to cities, nations, and “saved” people, but we see not one verse in the context of being saved, use the term “repent of your sins”.

Only believe.

And, “thous shalt be saved”.

It is not “Turn over a new leaf”

It is not”believe and get baptized”

It is not “Believe in Jesus and keep the commandments”

It is not “do the best you can”.

It is not Trust Jesus AND, and also, trust in your church, keep all it’s rules, get baptized in your church, or anything like that!

Only believe.

1 John 5:11 “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

4. Do not be deceived by the wrong rapture.

What do I mean “the wrong rapture”?

The belief that Jesus can come at any moment, and that He will come and secretly “rapture” all born again believers to Heaven, “before the tribulation starts” is a belief held by almost a majority of all Christians.

It is taught in Tim LaHaye’s books “The Left Behind ” series.

It is promoted by most “prophecy experts” in their books and articles.

It is promoted in movies such as “A thief in the night”.

Almost all my friends and Preachers, and Pastors believe it.

I believed it for 37 years. In October 2015, I prayed, “Lord, if I am teaching or believe something that is not true, show me.” I want to rightly divide the Word of truth. God showed me through video’s and good preaching and long hard Bible study, that there are very few, or no verses that teach a pre trib rapture. I did not change this belief easily. Many believe the pre trib rapture came from the Scofield reference notes that are in the Scofield Bible. Many Fundamental Baptist Colleges and churches and preachers used it and began to repeat it. This Bible has many good notes. But notes ARE NOT scripture. Does the Bible teach this? Not the traditions or opinions of men.

But is it “True”.

Or, has Satan pulled off a master deception?

2 Thes. 2:1 “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”

Don’t be shaken in mind we are warned. The “Day of Christ”, is the Rapture. In verse 1, we are “gathered together”. It is also mentioned in Phil. 1:10, and Philippians 2:16. It is a hope, a day of rejoicing”. The Day of the Lord is a day of fear and terror and hopelessness as God pours out His wrath on the Christ rejecting world of those left behind after the rapture.

Paul warns here, that it can not come, the rapture can not happen, UNTIL , the man of os sin , the antichrist is revealed, and the “falling away” first happens, which we believe is the Apostasy.

Is this why many will become discouraged or fall away, when the “secret rapture” does not occur?

I taught Revelation 4:1 was the rapture. Is it? “After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.” It could be called a “type” of the rapture, but it is only one man, John who is caught up. Not multitudes. It seems the rapture is mentioned and taught in Rev. 6:12. It is the same event as mentioned in Matthew 24, and the book of Joel. The Sun , Moon, and stars go dark, and there is a great earthquake. They are all describing the same event when Jesus “gathers His elect”.

Rev. 6:12 “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”

The great multitude of innumerable people coming out of “great Tribulation” in Rev. ch 7 and chronologically follow Rev. 6:12 seems more likely to be describing what happens at the rapture, that occurs when the sun moon and stars go dark.

Rev. 7:9 “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,

12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

13 ¶ And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”

They come out of Great Tribulation. (This is not the wrath of God, or also called “The Day of the Lord” which immediately starts after the rapture and the sun moon and stars go dark. Some secret “snatching away”. Even a blind man will feel the earthquake.

Again “Tribulation” is not the same as God’s wrath. Believers are promised deliverance from the wrath of God, but will suffer persecution, death, wars and famines. Great Tribulation and misery. But those who endure to the end shall be saved. The rapture will come and they will be taken out of it, then the wrath of God is poured out. It will indeed be a “blessed hope”at this time.

1. It seems that the rapture is described perfectly in Matthew 24: 27-42.

I used to wonder if this was talking about Jesus coming at Armageddon, and that “one will be taken, and one left” was the separation of the “sheep from the goats.”

It can’t be .

Because “The Sun , Moon and stars” being darkened and a major earthquake, and the trumpets, is the key major event being described in Revelation 6:12 “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”

It is the same event being described In Matthew 24 when the “Elect are gathered” and “one taken and another left”.

Matt. 24:9 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

Immediately after these signs, the “Day of the Lord’s wrath” starts.

So ” believers will not suffer God’s wrath, as promised.

1Th. 5:9 “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,”

Jesus NEVER promised to deliver us from tribulation.

He said in the world “ye shall have tribulation.”

Tribulation is what men cause and do to each other.

The wrath of God is from Him.

They are different.

The same event is described in Joel 2:10 “The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?”

It is describing the SAME event.

The Rapture happens, the dead in Christ rise first, then all believers (called the Elect) are “gathered” together by the Angels. The lost are “left behind” on the earth to suffer the “Day of God’s wrath”. This is the time period described after the sixth seal and all the plagues following it in Rev. 6.

If you read Mathew 24, it is the Lord chronologically describing future events. When we see the “Abomination of desolation”, after that we are to look for the rapture. We do not know the hour or the day He will come, but when ye see all these things, know that I am at the door. It will truly be “The blessed Hope” for these times will be terrible to live through. When believers see this happen, it is a sign that Jesus “is at the door” ready to rescue us.

The coming at Armageddon does not occur until after the horrors described following the 7th seal in Rev. 8:1. Then the lost world experiences horrible times.

then Jesus comes back at Armageddon as described in Rev. 19:11 “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

Then is the sheep and goat judgment of the nations.

Rev. 8:1 “And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.” This starts the time period called “The Day of the Lord”. The period of God’s wrath on the Christ rejecting world.

Have you been taught to believe differently?

What does the Bible say? Be not deceived.
